A painter since 1996, she started her Daily Painting Project in 2006 and it has changed her life. "The exercise in discipline has been extraordinary: my eye is sharper, my sense of color is stronger, compositions jump out at me. I see a painting in everything," says Elizabeth. "Every artist needs a muse and I am blessed to have 4 that include a Basset Hound, a Boston Terrier and 2 fluffy cats. As an animal lover, it is such a thrill for me to paint not only my furry friends, but also the beloved pets of others," points out Elizabeth. Elizabeth has created an art journal with her small daily paintings, giving the viewers an insight into her life as an artist in Maine. This "daily painting project" has resulted in the completion of well over 1300 small paintings as well as numerous larger works. The Daily Painting movement is an international phenomenon and it has received much publicity for making art accessible to everyone. Elizabeth has received national attention in an article about daily painters in the NY Times and Art Business News and has been featured in the USA Today Online Holiday Gift Guide. |
